DOLDT, William J. Of Mansfield, formerly of Brookline and Brockton, passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of the late Mary J. (McDonnell) Doldt. Loving father of William Joseph Doldt, Jr., and his wife, Lauren Parzivand, of East Longmeadow, and Dr. Bryan Doldt and his wife, Liz Palmieri, of Mansfield, and her children, Mary-Kate and Max. Adored Grandpa to Emma and Lily. Devoted son of the late Francis F. and Mary E. (O’Connell) Doldt. Dear brother of Mary “May” Hunnefeld of Natick, Katherine “Kay” Arsenault of Nashua, NH, and Stephen Doldt of York, ME, and the late Frederick Doldt and Lorraine Comparato. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Bill was a retired employee of the Wellesley School Department who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and the everyday moments that meant the most to him. He enjoyed working on puzzles, tending to his flowers and garden, and gathering around the table for a friendly game of cards. A devoted Boston sports fan, Bill proudly cheered on the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox. Above all, family was at the heart of Bill’s life. He treasured the time spent with his loved ones, and those shared moments brought him some of his greatest joy. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bell-O’Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, on Tuesday, October 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
