Our beloved mother, Virginia "Ginny" Wiegand, passed away peacefully, on February 18, 2026, surrounded by her family, at the age of 96. She was a force of nature, a source of endless laughter and the heart of our family. She will be profoundly missed by her entire family.  Her son, Thomas Heider and his wife, Kathleen of Norwood, MA. Her daughters, Elizabeth (Lisa) McCall and her husband, Kerry of Bennington, VT, Barbara Melendez and her husband, Vidal of Alvin, TX, Carol Rodriguez and her husband, Felix of League City, TX; and Nancy Catherine Wiegand, who predeceased her. She was a loving grandmother of ten, a great-grandmother of 20 and would have become a great-great-grandmother in May.

There will be a Celebration of Life for this wonderful woman, on Saturday May 30th at 10:00 at the United Parish, 210 Harvard St, Brookline, where she was a long-time member and sang in the choir.
