MALINN, Theresa J. (O'Leary) Of Brookline on August 1, 2019. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late James J. "Jim" Malinn. Loving mother of Maureen Malinn-Sullivan and her late husband Walter of Brookline, James P. and wife Mary of Dedham, John F. of Brookline, Michael J. and wife Vicky of Medway, Kevin G. and wife Mary of Norwood, Francis X. and wife Cristina of West Roxbury, Joanne Malinn Jacobson and husband Robert of Foxboro, Christopher B. and wife Joanna of Walpole and the late Joseph T. Malinn. Adored grandmother of Matthew, William, Jennifer, Joanna, Joseph, Julie, Brian, Meredith, Veronica, Robert, Tori, Lizzy, Sofia, Connor, Annabel and Erin. Cherished great grandmother of Declan, Gwen, Luke, and Grace. Loving daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (Dennehy) O'Leary. Dear sister of Ann Gaine and late husband Denis of Dorchester, the late Margaret (& John) Toomey, the late John J. (& Betty) O'Leary, the late Maryanne O'Leary and sister-in-law of the late Francis Malinn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish, upon graduation from St. Mary's High School, Theresa proved herself a true renaissance woman, embracing her passion for travel and pursuing a career as a bookkeeper at Stanwood Hillson. Following the birth of her children, Theresa was regarded as a beacon in the community, often found volunteering at the St. Mary's school library, Mother's Club & Catholic Daughters, as well as many other community groups. Theresa shared a great life of love & faith with her husband Jim, and often reminisced of their favorite travels to Ireland and Bermuda together. In her most recent years, Theresa authored and published a book about her life entitled, My Life so Far, in which she penned excerpts of the very happy life she valued. Theresa's legacy in this life is her gift of welcoming all to join her family. She happily extended incredible kindness, acceptance, encouragement, support & wisdom to those who had the privilege of knowing her. You are an inspiration to us all; we will keep your beautiful spirit within each of us forever. Funeral from the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline on Wednesday morning August 7that 10:10 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church at 11:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday August 6th from 4:00 - 8:00PM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa's memory may be given to St. Mary's Building Fund, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline, MA.
