Susan Elizabeth (Mahon) Kelly, Lifelong Resident of Brookline, MA entered eternal rest on August 24, 2024. Susan was a woman of faith, a life-long parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Brookline where she also received all of her sacraments.
Being a woman of faith, her church and prayer were sources of inspiration and comfort to her throughout her life. She was an active member of St. Mary's Mother's Club, throughout her children's Catholic school education and volunteered for many years with St. Mary's "1000 Club".
After raising her own children, Susan continued in that role by helping others with their families. She then enjoyed many years spending time with her own grandchildren who she cherished. One of her greatest joys was being called Nana.
Susan married William J. "Tiny" Kelly in 1963, and have been happily married for the past 60 years.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, William J. "Tiny" Kelly of Brookline; her devoted (twin) daughter; Karen M. Keaney of West Roxbury. She was predeceased by her sons (twin) Kenneth W. (BPD); youngest son Brian T. Kelly and son in law Christopher M. Keaney (BPD); and her brother's Gerald T. and John L. Mahon.
Adored Nana of Kayla E. and Courtney K. Churchill; Kyle B., Ashley K. and Colin J. Kelly all of West Roxbury; daughter in law Jane M. Kelly of West Roxbury; sister in laws Janis Mahon, Barbara E. & Theresa M. Kelly, brother in law John R. Kelly, all of Brookline, and brother in law Thomas F. Kelly (Ann) of Tewksbury. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Susan was a former employee of Roth's Fish Market and Retired Crossing Guard of Brookline Police Department.
Susan's life was marked by strength, resilience and unwavering love. She will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held in Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, on Thursday, August 29th from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Church at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery, Brookline where her final resting place will be with her two sons.
The family would like to thank the staff of the German Centre (Deutsche Altenheim), West Roxbury, MA for their devoted care as well as Legacy Life Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to the Building Fund at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline, MA. 02445.
