McMackin, SSG., USAAF., Charles G. Of Revere, MA. Killed in Action on August 1,1943 during combat mission "OPERATION TIDAL WAVE"in Romania. Charles made the supreme sacrifice at the age of 26.

Born in Boston on February 23, 1917,Charlesentered theUnited States Army Air Forcesfrom Boston on February 4, 1942, serving as a bombardier with the 86th Bombardment Squadron, the 44th Bombardment Group and the 8th Air Force

Loving son to the late Charles and Elizabeth McMackin. He is the dear brother of the late Dorothy E. (McMackin) Moore and her husband John. He will always be remembered byhis nieces Rosemary Stipa and Patricia Marshall, their families, and a grateful nation.

Family and friends will honor Charles' life andserviceby gathering on Saturday, April 9th in Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline from 9:30AM - 12:00PM.Afuneral processionwilldepart the funeral homeat 12:00PMand proceed tothe Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill, whereCharleswill be laid to rest alongside his parents, with full Military Honors.
