Robert Edward Mayotte, of Brookline, passed away suddenly on August 12, 2024, in Sandwich, MA.
He was predeceased by his father, Edward. Robert is survived by his mother, Maureen (Cronin); his sister, Kathleen Defaut, and brother-in-law Robert Defaut; his nephew and niece, Ryan and Marie Mayotte; his niece, Ana Jansky; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Born on April 21, 1967, in Boston, MA, Robert graduated from Brookline High School. He began his career as an editor at the Tab Newspapers before transitioning to marketing and advertising, where he worked alongside his long-time friend Eric Lees at Bach-Lees Design in Arlington.
Robert enjoyed living in Brookline, Cambridge, East Brookfield, and Sandwich. During COVID, he purchased an RV and traveled from Massachusetts to Florida. After returning, he settled in Sandwich to manage family-owned residential properties on the South Coast and Cape.
He will be remembered for planning many family getaways, bike riding, singing and playing guitar, cheering on Boston sports teams, enjoying coffee frappes, and coordinating weekly family Zoom calls. His infectious smile and warm laugh made any room feel brighter. Robert was happiest when spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's funeral mass at Saint Mary of the Assumption, 3 Linden Place, Brookline, MA, on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 10:00 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Bell - O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St, Brookline, MA, on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
