Obituary

Richard Morgan White, Jr., also referred to as Dad, Daddy, Pops, Grandpy, Grandad, Uncle Richard, and Mr. White of Roxbury, MA passed away peacefully at the Presentation Rehab. & Skilled Care Center on February 19, 2019. Richard M.; was born December 2, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. His father, Richard, Sr., after working on the Panama Canal deviated from his brothers and returned to Montserrat, British West Indies when Richard Jr., was only 2 years of age. Richard, Jr. resided in Montserrat where he learned to repair houses. In 1957 at the age of 26, Richard, Jr. left Montserrat and joined the US Air Force. It was during his time in the US Air Force while stationed in Paris, France where Richard met his wife Erika and the mother of his three children, Richard, Eric, and Ursula. Richard and Erika purchased a house in Roxbury, MA where Richard M., resided until moving to the Presentation Center in 2014. Richard M., worked for Raytheon, became an entrepreneur having a TV repair business and then real estate broker where he became President and Owner of Interracial housing in Codman Square, Dorchester. Richard M. finally found his passion and enjoyment, driving for Red Cab in Brookline, MA where he drove spreading his wisdom to all that he met locally and around the world. Richard a self-made man was a devoted father to Richard Z. White of Maryland, Eric E. White of New York, and Ursula A. (and husband Allen) Neely of Maryland. He was a cherished brother of Phyllis Beverly of Philadelphia, and the late Martha and Alena White of Boston. He was also a proud Grandfather of Richard E. White, Kathleen Nicole White Pollard, Cameron Neely, and Konrad Neely. He leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and had an impact on those who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday March 14th 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Forsyth Chapel, Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA. Inurnment in the Chapel of Madonna Columbarium immediately following service.
