Gillis, Richard A, passed away on December 4, 2024. He is survived by his children Katherine and Michael of Walpole, MA. Richie had recently retired as a Firefighter from the Brookline Fire Department where he leaves countless friends and colleagues. He is also survived by his devoted family Sharon and Pete Torgerson, Scot and Christine Gillis, Kevin Gillis, Donna and Jonny Gartland and his nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Adeline Gillis of Brookline. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his children, friends and family, sharp wit and classic one-liners.  Visiting hours at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St, Brookline, Sunday, December 22 from 2-6pm.  Funeral Mass Monday, December 23 at 10 am at St. Mary's Church in Brookline, MA.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Richie to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
