MATTHEWS, Phillip M. Of California, formerly of Brookline passed away suddenly on July 22, 2021. Devoted son of Christine A. (Vandenburgh) Matthews of Brookline and the late John A. Matthews, Sr. Dear father of Emma Klein of CA. Devoted brother of John A. Matthews, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of TX., Brian Matthews and his wife Sonia of Dedham and Mary Ellen Matthews and her partner Kevin Guyette of Southbridge. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline on Saturday Sept. 25th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours have been omitted.
