GORMLEY, Mark David of Brookline passed away suddenly on August 23rd, 2023. Mark was a loving son of Philip L. Gormley and Margaret "Peggy" (Francis) Gormley, as well as a dear brother of Paul and his wife Alicia of Roslindale, and Brian of Brookline. Cherished uncle of Keira Rose Gormley.
Mark was a graduate of Brookline High School class of 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Curry College in 2009. He was a brilliant cinematographer, photographer, and book publisher. He was also a talented musician, completely self-taught on both drums and piano, and was constantly composing new material. Music meant so much to him.
Mark was most devoted to his family, his friends, and all who loved him and his non-stop antics. He had the ability to make everyone around him laugh.
The light never entered the room until he arrived, and then the party could start. His love of adventure and "living on the edge" mentality was envied by all who knew him. He was a daredevil and took on many challenges just to prove that he could do it.
Mark is survived by many uncles and aunts including Susan Francis of Florida, Martin and Barbara Francis of Marshfield, John Francis of Wareham, Dave and Ellen Gormley of Foxboro, Rosemary Gormley of Boston, Kathy and Fred Fuller of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his uncle Thomas Francis of Brookline. He will also be missed by his large extended family, both here and in Ireland, as well as his supportive network of cousins and friends. Mark cared so deeply for his family and friends and will be remembered for his profound loyalty to those he loved.
