In loving memory of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Marilyn Simpson Dalzell who was born August 14,1928 and died May 26, 2023 following a sudden and brief illness.

Marilyn was a loving, loyal, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was strong-willed, with an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Marilyn was generous, brave and clever. Filled to the brim with knowledge and wisdom gained through extensive reading, world travel and all her life experiences.

Marilyn will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her family and friends. She truly loved each one, and if you were lucky enough to know her, you knew it. Marilyn carried herself with dignity, strength, grace and love throughout her life. She will be missed dearly.

Marilyn was predeceased by all her Boone/Simpson Family siblings and their spouses. All part of "The Greatest Generation." She provided a solid foundation of what family meant for future generations to emulate.

She was predeceased by her husband Warren H. Dalzell, their daughter Deborah C. Dalzell, and two daughters-in-law, Kathy (Kathleen) Dalzell (wife of Timothy Dalzell) and Karen Dalzell (wife of Gary Dalzell). Her longtime companion, Jack (John) Clancy, also predeceased her.

She is survived by her four children: Timothy, Gary (Gerald), Mary-Ellen, and Peggy (Margaret) Dalzell Thistle, as well as Peggy's husband Gary Thistle, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home (376 Washington St, Brookline, Ma.).

The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, Saturday June 17, 2023 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (15 St. Paul St, Brookline, Ma 02446). Interment will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery (96 Grove St. Chestnut Hill, Ma) immediately following the service.

A light reception will be held at the church following the interment. More information will be provided at the church service.
