CLOHERTY, Margaret T. "Peggy". Born December 8, 1931, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023. A native of Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland. She was one of six children to the late Thomas and Mary Cloherty. Loving sister of Anne Conneely of Norwood and the late Peter Cloherty of Galway, Mary O'Regan and Brigé Cloherty both of Brookline and Mark Cloherty of Connemara. In addition to her sister Anne, she is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. Peggy was an LPN caring for many elderly in the Brookline area. Throughout her life she remained a strong supporter of the Irish Culture and taught the Gaelic Language for many years. She is the Former president of Cumann na Gaelge Boston.
Funeral from the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, Wednesday morning at 10:00 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church at 11:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00. Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Peggy may be made to the Irish Cultural Centre 200 New Boston Dr., Canton, MA. 02021 www.irishculture.org/support/donate or a charity of your choice.
