Larry Dudley, 81, of Canton, Massachusetts and formerly of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born May 28, 1942 in New York, NY to Alden and Dorothy Dudley, who have preceded him in death.

Larry married the love of his life Patty, on June 12, 1965, in Rockville Centre, NY. Larry and Patty brought into the world four wonderful children and made friends into family. She preceded him in death in March 2014. He was fortunate to love again and marry Jo Ellen Hillyer in May 2022. Their love for each other created anew the mystery that is a loving marriage.

Larry is survived by his three daughters, Susan (Wade) in Charlotte NC, Amy (Randy) in Wallburg NC, and Heather (Stacey) in Buffalo SC. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother, sister, nieces, nephews and many other loved ones. Along with Patty, Larry is joining their son, Bill, who preceded him in February of this year.

Larry was an active member at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Raleigh, NC for many years. Recognizing the need for the services that the Knights of Columbus provide, Larry became the Charter Grand Knight of the All Saints Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in the formation of the Council, including recruiting Brother Knights to join the Order. Also, Larry was a 4th Degree Knight, serving in the St. Francis of Assisi Assembly, in support of the men and women of the military.

He served the community wherever he lived. Through the churches, schools and neighbors, he was always willing to give his time and expertise- fixing things, making things right or just better. His handy work can be found throughout the communities he lived in. He was loved and will be missed by all who have come to know him.

A Memorial Meeting will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Park., Cambridge, MA., and aFuneral Mass will be held April 20, 2024 at 11:00 am in the chapel at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Raleigh, NC.
