Koichi Matsukawara, 65, of Quincy passed away on November 29, 2021. Koichi was born in Niigata, Japan, on August 4, 1956 as an only child of Hiroshi and Tatsuko Matsukawara. Both parents were elementary school teachers. Koichi graduated from one of Japan's prestigious universities, Keio University in Tokyo with a BA in Social Psychology. After graduation, he worked for ICS Convention Design, Inc., where he met Hiroko. In 1995, Koichi was invited to be a business partner of his friend and moved to Boston with his wife, Hiroko. For over 25 years, he tirelessly worked and successfully organized many trade shows, offshore meetings, conferences and symposiums, establishing his business and himself in the United States. Later in 2004, he founded his own company Mats & Associates that included major global corporations such as Sankyo Pharmaceutical Company as its clients. He was known for his gentle heart as well as his dedication to work and life. He and Hiroko had a lovely m, arried life together even though the force of circumstances including the COVID-19 pandemic kept them to live separately for the past 7 years. They remained close by talking to each other every day. Koichi sadly passed away on November 29, 2021 in Boston from a stroke. He is survived by his loving wife, Hiroko Une Matsukawara. A small private service is planned for December 4, 2021 following by the cremation on December 6, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to help the family.
