Katherine (Jean) Wright died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 5th at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born in Pittsburgh in 1935, she graduated from Wellesley College in 1957 with a degree in Economics. After marrying Edmund Geschickter, MD, (deceased) the family resided in Framingham, Massachusetts. In 1988 Jean married Norman E Wright (deceased) and moved to Summit New Jersey, then to Harbour Ridge in Palm City Florida. In 2006 after Norman's death, she moved to Charlotte. She moved to Brookline Massachusetts in July 2016. Jean is survived by her daughter, Susan Stanley and her husband Gordon Stanley of Charlotte, North Carolina; her sons, John Theodore (Ted) Geschickter and his partner Marianne Moran of Milwaukie Oregon; Edmund (Chet) Geschickter Jr and his wife Michele Sommer of Brookline Massachusetts and six grandchildren Grant and Samantha Stanley, Garrick Hutcheson-Geschickter, and Sam, Edmund and Andrew Geschickter. Jean was a licensed residential realtor for 35 years. She also enjoyed many activities in her favorite organizations. She served on the Wellesley College Alumnae Association in various positions, was a Presbyterian Church Elder, worked with the Boston and Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Guilds and sang in several choral societies and church choirs. Her favorite past time was playing and teaching bridge. Funeral services will be held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 17th at 11:00 am followed by a reception for family and friends at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Music Endowment Fund of Myers Park Presbyterian Church or the Pan-Mass Challenge to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (pmc.org egift CG0015).
