Of Brookline and Auburndale, peacefully passed away in her home, surrounded by family and loved ones on February 1. Born 93 years ago into a family of sailors and New England Adventurers, Justine Wright Connolly was the daughter of Justin Eddy Wright and Ethel Preston Wright. Preston Loring Wright and Marjorie Wright Skahill, her beloved brother and sister, preceded her in death. Justine was the wife of the late John Edward Connolly, a longtime Brookline resident. Justine is survived by Michael of Florida, her daughter, Margie and son-in-law, Fred Harden, of Mancos, Colorado, daughters Martha of Boise, Ruth of Singapore, Steve and Maggie Raskin of Brookline. Justine was blessed with nieces and nephews: Cynthia Wright Holland, her husband Mike, Ed and Janet Skahill of Rhode Island; Bill and Debbie Skahill from California; John and Sage Skahill of Colorado; David and Laurie Connolly of Florida; Donald and Janet Connolly of Maryland; Douglas and Rosemary Connolly and Dawn (Connolly) and Wayne Hoath of Sunbury-on-Thames, England. She is also survived by friends at Lasell Village in Auburndale and countless friends around the world. An active member of the Brookline Garden Club, Brookline Youth Concert Association, Justine volunteered her time generously with Hospice. Many people remember her standing at the Hospitality Table offering her home to people who had relatives hospitalized for extended stays in Boston. John and Justine were founding members of the Penguin Ski Club in Lincoln, NH. Skiing was part of the family tradition with many trips to Idaho, Alta, Park City, Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Mt Washington and Europe in search of perfect powder. Justine hung her skis up at the ripe young age of 80 - time for her to travel to other parts of the globe. Justine followed her Mayflower roots with journeys throughout Europe-although English by descent, her love of Ireland was legendary. She spent a semester at Chiang Mai University, has a family in Bangkok who she stayed with for years. Her time in Colorado and New Mexico lead to a lifelong love of Native American culture. Wafaring adventures brought her months in India, Bali, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and, of course, Wellfleet. Justine was the consummate voyager, but Boston was always home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, February 13th at 10:30AM at St. Lawrence Church, 774 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. Internment will be private. Visiting hours will be at the Bell-ODea Funeral Home, 376 Washington Street, BROOKLINE on Monday, February 12th from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. Justines father worked on one of the early USS Constitution restorations.
