(Carr) Martell
Dec 21, 1960 — Jun 6, 2026
Kingston
MARTELL, Julie A. Of Kingston, formerly of West Roxbury passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends after a brief illness. She was the cherished daughter of the late Lois A. (Carty) and Paul J. Carr, Sr.
Julie was born in Boston and grew up on Tennyson Street in West Roxbury where she made many lifelong friends. She attended St. Theresa of Avila School and was a graduate of St. Clare's in Roslindale. She and her family were dedicated parishioners at St. Theresa of Avila Church where she made all her sacraments and where her faith journey began.
In 1981 while working at Capital Supermarket on Centre Street she met the love of her life, Joseph Martell. They later married at St. Joseph Church in Kingston and shared 44 years of marriage. It was Kingston where they decided to settle and raise their three children. Julie and Joe instilled in their children a sense of belonging, compassion and drive to do what's right and serve the world around them by what they do and say and how they live. They emphasized the importance of cherishing memories and how to love unconditionally.
Julie is survived by her loving and devoted husband Joseph S. Martell, Sr. Her loving children Joseph S. Martell, Jr. and his partner Karen Manning of Quincy, David Martell of Kingston and Laura Martell of East Bridgewater. Dear sister of Paul J. Carr, Jr. of Quincy and Jack Carr of Plymouth. Sister-in-law of Richard Martell and his wife Melanie of Pembroke, David Martell and his wife Kathleen of East Bridgewater and James Martell of Pembroke. She was the proud aunt of 8 nieces and nephews and 3 grandnephews. She is also survived by her lifelong best friends Mary Hines of West Roxbury, Helen Kelley of Plymouth and Janice Quigley of Lynchburg, VA. Julie was the aunt of the late Brendan Carr, daughter-in-law of the late Ruth and Joseph Martell, and sister-in-law of the late Donna (Forde) Martell.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visitation in St. Joseph Church, 272 Main Street, Kingston on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Family flowers only please.
