Joseph Francis Hennessey passed away on Saturday January 7,2023, at the age of 94. After several months of declining health, Joseph died peacefully with his beloved wife Mary and children by his side.

Joseph was born in Brookline Massachusetts, to Henry and Elizabeth Hennessey on May 15th 1928. The older brother of six sisters, Joseph joined the Navy at age 17 and upon his discharge, joined the Brookline Police Department in April 1952. A year later he met the love of his life, Mary. They lived inseparable for over 70 years.

After a remarkable 30-year career as a Police officer, Joseph joined Northeast Security Inc. where he served as a Vice President until 2021.

As the family patriarch Joseph cherished the quality time spent with his children, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Henry and Elizabeth, his sisters Elizabeth Brown, Grace Scaildone, and Mary Stuart.

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Maryrose Noble, husband Peter, Joseph Hennessey, wife Sophia, John Hennessey, wife Susan, Susan Lynch, and Gerard Hennessey, wife Mary, his sisters Barbara Murphy, Patricia Langdon Joan Merrick and his grandchildren and great grandchildren, A special thanks to all his caregivers at Benchmark in Norwood, including all the Hospice nurses and support staff. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Wednesday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours have been omitted. Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery.
