Janice Hamilton, of Brookline, age 88, passed away on April 8, 2024 after a period of declining health. She was the loving daughter of the late Katherine and Francis Hamilton, and the dear sister of the late Frank Hamilton, Kathy Hamilton, Betty Burke, and brother-in-law Joe Burke. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Deborah (Steven) Notinger of Nashua, NH, Joseph Burke of Braintree, MA, Dianne (Derek) Silvia, of Bridgewater, MA, and Paul (Jodi) Burke, of Danvers, MA, her 11 grandnieces and grandnephews, and many friends in Brookline and Hampton Beach, NH, all of whom will miss her greatly. Janice loved working at the Statehouse and visiting Filene's Basement on her lunch hour every day to hunt for bargains (which she scored on a daily basis) for all of her family and friends. She loved shopping, bowling, bingo, traveling, and scratch tickets! She loved spending time with her friends in Brookline and her friends on Nudd Ave. at Hampton Beach. She was lucky at the lottery and lucky in life, living a good long one with many adventures along the way. She was a member of the CDA Court Brookline # 488. Visitation will be held in the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline on Friday morning April 12th from 9:30 – 10:30 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Brookline at 11:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
