Obituary

James C. Miczek, of Brookline, formerly of Braintree, passed away on September 23, 2023. Beloved husband to Lynn P. (Donahoe) Miczek. Loving father of Michael James Miczek and his wife Jennifer and adored grandpa to their three children, Madison, Charlie, and Connor Miczek all of Brookline. Devoted son of the late Charles and Theresa Miczek. Cherished brother of Charlotte Miczek of Brighton, Barbara Wilson and her husband John of Norwell, Elizabeth Miczek-Larnard and her late husband Raymond Larnard of Amesbury and Suzanne Fenton and her husband James of Stuart, FL. Dear brother-in-law and lifelong best friend, Brian Donahoe and his wife Rosemary of Kingston, Julie DeLuca and her husband Christopher of Harwich, Christopher Donahoe and his wife Satu of Peabody. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and Yonnes St. Rose, devoted caregiver for nearly 20 years.



Jim survived a spinal cord injury at age 14 and went on to live his life to the fullest. He loved traveling across the US and abroad with his devoted wife, rooting for New England sports teams and celebrating birthday dinners with his son at the Capital Grille. A retired Systems Analyst with Stone and Webster, Jim was a Member for the Boston Center for Independent Living and served on the Board of Directors for the Brookline Commission on Disability. He was also actively involved in the Spaulding Adaptive Sports Program and served as Chapter President for Toastmasters International.



Jim attended UMass Dartmouth and received his MBA from Babson College.



The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at Brigham and Women and Spaulding for their exceptional care throughout the years.



Visiting hours will be held in the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning September 28 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow in Holyhood Cemetery.
