James McCone of Hingham and Edgartown, formerly of Brookline and Walpole passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on December 28, 2023.

Devoted husband of 49 years to Margaret "Peggy" McCone of Hingham and Brookline. Cherished and loving father to Alissa McCone Siedlecki of Medway and Kristen McCone Gordon of Medfield. Revered Father-in-law to Michael Siedecki and Christopher J. Gordon. James leaves behind his four grandchildren, whom he deeply loved and cherished: Ruby Noelle Siedlecki (10), Luke James Siedlecki (7), Margaret Elizabeth Gordon (9), and James McCone Gordon (6). James McCone is predeceased by his parents, Mary and James McCone of Brookline, MA. He also leaves behind an aunt, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James honorably served in the United States National Guard from 1968 to 1971. He graduated from Bentley University with a degree in business. He worked at Motorola Solutions, Inc. for 39 years, where he was elected into the Galvin Masters and CEO Circle. Following his retirement in 2015, he established his own business as an independent consultant. His greatest achievement and passion was his family.

James McCone leaves a legacy of devotion to family, kindness, and integrity within the hearts of all who loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington Street, Brookline on Thursday morning January 4th at 10am. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3rd from 4-7pm. Internment Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim McCone may be made to JDRF Diabetes Foundation (jdrf.org) to support Type 1 Diabetes Research.
