Henry Hyun Kim was born on 25 February 1943 in Nanam, Hamgyong Province, Korea. He attended grade schools in Seoul at Jang Chun Elementary and Bo Sung Middle and High Schools. He studied at Seoul National University, College of Agriculture from 1962–66, followed by a two-year appointment with the ROTC. He worked at Bando Trade Company at LG in Seoul from 1968–71 before immigrating to the United States in 1971. On 8 January 1972 he married Mija Song at Newton Presbyterian Church. He worked at Mac-Gray Corporation in Cambridge from 1972 to 1988. In 1988, he was installed as an Elder of The Korean Church of Boston. From 1989 to 2019 he was the business owner of several laundromats. He passed away on 28 February 2019. Henry loved gardening, classical and country music, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Mija, brother John, daughters Joanna and Rebecca, sons-in-law Eugene and Dwight, and grandchildren Nathan, Noëlle, Thomas, and Lyla. Funeral Services were held on Saturday March 9, 2019.
