Helen Theresa (Sullivan) Studd , born and raised in Brookline, worked and lived in Boston, Brockton, and Easton, passed away on June 19, 2026, at 94. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Donald "Don" Studd, her brothers John F. Sullivan of Colrain, Detective Richard G. Sullivan, Brookline Police Department, and James J. Sullivan, USMC, killed in action in the Korean War, sister Maryjean DelRosso of Heath, and her mother (Mema) Helen T. (Murtagh) Sullivan and her father (Papa) James J. Sullivan, both from Ireland.

Helen graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Brookline. She was an accomplished Irish stepdancer throughout the Boston area, accompanied by her dad, sister, and brother, Jack. She attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser in Boston. She married, settled in Brockton, and had three adoring children: the late Richard G. Warner of Brockton, Jim F. Warner of Hartford, CT, and Gary C. Warner of Seekonk.

Bringing up three boys on her own defines her character. Going back to school, creating a successful career at the Department of Social Services as a Social Worker/Administrator defines her heart. Living her life with an unflinching devotion to the Catholic faith is a testament to her pure soul. Everyone who ever engaged with her at any level experienced her sweet, loving heart, incredible humor, and it would be impossible for her not to bring up the fact that she was Irish. It was her joy and superpower.

She adored her three grandchildren, Lark O. Warner of Dedham, James C. Warner, and John L. Warner, both of Chicago, IL. She loved the color green, nature (especially birds), travel, Neil Diamond and Eddie Arnold records, anything to do with veterans and police officers, lobster, Irish music, Christmas songs, watching her kids play ball, swearing in Gaelic, Pino Grigio, the Bridge of Flowers, archaeology, and anything to do with anything Irish. She was always active and supportive of her community, old and new circles of friends, and family. She loved to make a cup of tea and talk. She knitted winter hats for cancer patients, volunteered to make and bring lunches to shut-ins, played bingo and cards, and became quite an amazing artist in acrylic painting later in life.

Mom was cherished by her family, neighbors, congregation, work associates, fellow artists and bingo gamblers, and a vast array of friends. One of Mom's favorite pieces of advice defines her beauty: "The very best thing we can do in our lives is to make others feel special." She passionately did that her whole life.

The viewing is Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St, Brookline, MA. After, we will all proceed to the Walnut Hills Cemetery, 96 Grove St., Brookline, MA, for her burial. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation in Washington, DC, in memory of her older brother Jamesy's ultimate sacrifice.
