SUTFIN, Harriet D.Of Dedham, formerly of Brookline, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of almost 50 years of Allan B. Sutfin. Loving mother of Martha G. Karasek (Marti) and her husband, Dale, of Dedham. Harriet was the cherished grandmother of Stephen T. Karasek, and wife, Cai Gao, and Anne L. Karasek, and great-grandma to Maximillian Gao Karasek (Max). Beloved sister of Anne D. Eastwood, and predeceased sisters Marjorie D. Pauk and Elmira D. Daniel. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Harriet grew up in Stony Creek, CT, the third of four daughters of Jack and Violet Doolittle. She was a kindergarten teacher in Brookline, and started and ran the Lab School (pre-K and K) at Brookline High School for a number of years. She earned her Master's degree from Harvard, her Doctorate degree at Boston University in early childhood education, and taught college level courses in her specialty. She met Allan Sutfin in 1970 and they married in May, 1973. Memorial service to be held at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM.
