Frances Therese Driscoll (née O'Donnell) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 26, 2025. She was 87 years young.  Frances was born in Boston and raised in its Brighton neighborhood.  She attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Suffolk University and received her Masters in Education from Boston College.  Frances was a Reading Specialist who taught kindergarten in the Boston Public Schools.  She later worked as a college administrator and was a published author.

Her passions in life included music, reading and art.  She instilled her love of education and appreciation for the arts in her children and grandchildren.  Frances loved to travel and had a particular affinity for Paris and Vienna.  She was born into a family of musicians and was a talented ballerina in her youth.  A proud Bostonian,  Frances loved the Public Garden, Symphony Hall, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Boston Public Library. She instilled her enthusiasm for culture and music in her children and grandchildren.  Frances was a fan of all Boston sports teams (Particularly the Red Sox) and Boston College Athletics.   She also spent many days watching her children, their spouses and her grandchildren play tennis and was thrilled by their various accomplishments on and off the court.

Frances is predeceased by her parents, Paul E. O'Donnell and Frances G. O'Donnell (née McCarthy).  She was the proud granddaughter of Charles A. O'Donnell, who was a founding member of the Boston Musician's Union.  Frances is survived by her son, David Driscoll and his wife Katrina, and her daughter, Caroline Driscoll and her husband, Bryan Barancik.  She is also survived by the greatest joys of her life, her grandchildren: Ana, Caroline, Maddie, Tryg, and Amalia.  Frances is also remembered with love by her many friends.

Burial will be private and followed by a Celebration of Life in October.
