Elizabeth (McKeown) MacDougall passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. She was the beloved wife of the late Scott MacDougall, the love of her life, who predeceased her in 2023.
Born to the late James J. McKeown and Margaret J. (Annese) McKeown, Elizabeth was raised in Brookline, Massachusetts. She was a proud graduate of Brookline High School, Class of 1969, where she fondly twirled as a majorette with the high school band. Following graduation, she trained to become a certified dental assistant at Northwestern and briefly worked in the dental field.
In 1974, Elizabeth embarked on a long and fulfilling career with Delta Airlines. Over the course of 38 years, she worked across various departments, ultimately serving in a leadership role as a supervisor before her retirement. Throughout her decades with the airline, she formed deep, lasting bonds that meant the world to her.
In 2007, Elizabeth married Scott MacDougall, sharing 16 wonderful years together until his passing in 2023. Above all, Elizabeth treasured her family. She felt extraordinarily fortunate to welcome two step-sons and their families into her heart, often stating that her greatest title was simply being known as "Noni." In her own heartfelt words: “I’m truly blessed, they make my life complete. To my family and friends, I love you all.” An avid animal lover, Elizabeth also held a special place in her heart for her beloved golden retrievers over the years, most especially her beautiful, faithful companion, Callie.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving step-sons and their families: Chris MacDougall, his wife Karyn, and their children Kensington, Teagan, and Declan; and Ryan MacDougall, his wife Gretchen, and their son Henry.
She is also survived by her brother Kevin McKeown of Brookline, MA; her sister Carol Mahoney; and many close cousins, dear friends, and especially her cherished Delta Family. She was predeceased by her brothers William McKeown and James J. McKeown Jr.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on Monday October 19th in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will immediately follow in the Walnut Hills Cemetery.
