Funeral mass livestream link: https://www.facebook.com/events/2263944037087125/ MAZIARKA, Elizabeth "Liz" passed away peacefully on June 27, 2022 at home with her family at her side. She was the most wonderful and loving mother to Charlie and Elena. She was the cherished wife of 22 years to José A. Guerra. Devoted daughter of the late Ronald J. and Cynthia H. Maziarka of Chicago, IL. Beloved sister of Catherine M. Darlington of Devon, PA. Liz's roots began in the midwest, growing up in Oak Park, IL, attending college at Marquette, earning her medical degree at Rush and completing her postgraduate training in Family Medicine at Providence Hospital and the Seattle Indian Health Board in Seattle, WA. From there she moved east to Boston with José to start their careers and a family. She served in many roles over her career and led with compassion and grace as the Medical Director of the Urgent Care at Codman Square Health Center. Liz was a woman of courage, endurance and determination who was a dependable and caring force for good in the world. The warmth and kindness of her friendship will be missed by many and the outpouring of love and support from family and friends after her passing have been a great source of comfort for Elena, Charlie and José. Visiting hours in the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home 376 Washington St, Brookline will be held on Thursday June 30th from 4:00 - 8:00. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday July 1st, in St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave. Chestnut Hill at 10:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations in Liz's memory to the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.https://www.jesuitvolunteers.org/ Liz's family would like to invite all friends and family for an informal lunch at their house from Noon to 2pm on Friday following the Mass.
