Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Fakhr (Wyatt) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday March 6, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on June 17, 1944 in England and raised as a foster child. At the age of 16, she met Ahmad Fakhr, an Iranian immigrant who moved to the U.K. to study engineering; and by 1965 they were married.

After spending 3 years in Canada and giving birth to her only child, son Darvish, they moved to Boston. They arrived the same day as the moon landing on July 9, 1969.

Elizabeth spent the following 30 years actively involved in the Boston area theatre scene as a playwright. In 1998, she separated from Ahmad, and moved to England where she lived for 13 years writing plays, venturing into sculpture, poetry and music composition.

Elizabeth was a force of life and overflowed with joy, never afraid to think outside the box or question the status quo. She loved animals, nature and enjoyed walks with her binoculars where she would check up on the local swans. She was graceful, elegant, intelligent, witty and always knew when to leave the party. Her infectious joie de vivre, contagious laugh, and unique energy will be missed immensely. She is survived by Ahmad, her son Darvish, daughter-in-law Leyla, her two grandsons Elan and Pasha.

Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Elizabeth on Tuesday March 19th in the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, MA. From 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
