Eddie Nicholson

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of Eddie "Red" Nicholson on April 21, 2026, at the age of 56. He was the loving son of Claire (Moran) Nicholson and the late Andrew "Andy" Nicholson.

Eddie was born on August 3, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Brookline High School in 1987 and was an avid hockey player.

He remained passionate about sports throughout his life and found the perfect career—and cherished friendships—at TD Garden. Once he started talking about sports, you never wanted him to stop; he was an incredible storyteller.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Claire Nicholson, whom he cared for with quiet devotion, as well as five first cousins, thirteen second cousins, and many lifelong friends.

Eddie Nicholson—a devoted son, loyal friend, beacon of kindness and love, and a man with a disarming wit—will forever remain in our hearts.

In remembrance of Eddie, and in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the Brookline High School Alumni Association ( www.brooklinehighalumni.org ), which supports scholarships for deserving seniors.

In accordance with Eddie's wishes, his remains will be spread in a private setting. A Celebration of Life will be planned once arrangements for his mother's care are finalized. All who are able will be invited to gather and pay their respects at that time.
