Edward Joseph
Mayotte
Jan 17, 1943 — Feb 19, 2023
Edward Joseph Mayotte, 80, of Brookline, passed away suddenly on February 19th, 2023 while vacationing in Florida.
Edward was born on January 17, 1943 to Ernest and Antoinette (Dion) Mayotte in Webster, MA, where he graduated from Bartlett High School. He later graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering Technology. Ed met Maureen Cronin during college when they both worked at Beth Israel Hospital, they were married on July 10, 1965.
After graduating, he joined BAIRD Corporation in Bedford, MA as an Electrical Engineer, starting a 26 year career in the field.
Ed retired in 1992 and spent his time continuing to learn all he could about new technologies, making wonderful creations with his 3D printer, being the family photographer and fix-it person, cheering on Boston sports teams, and researching family genealogy.
He had an infectious smile and warm laugh that made any room he was in seem larger; he was never happier than when he was spending time with his family.
Ed was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Lt Col Ernest Donald Mayotte (USAF). He leaves his wife of 57 years, Maureen, daughter Kathleen (Bob) Defaut, son Robert, his grandchildren Ryan (Marie) Mayotte and Ana Jansky, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
