Obituary

Nowosielski, Edward (Edd) A., 94, of Brookline passed away peacefully on 03/15/2023 after a brief illness.

After an early career in the merchant marines, Edd settled in Brookline in 1958 where he and his late wife Mary (Peters) Nowosielski raised their four children. He loved living in Brookline and enjoyed sitting in Pierce Park during the school year to see the kids enjoying the playground. He worked and managed Food Center Liquors in Brookline Village and at the Purity Supreme on the Allston line for over 30 years.

Edd's two passions were music and fishing, both of which have greatly influenced his children and grandchildren. He had an extensive record collection and he enjoyed fishing up until just a couple of years ago.

Edd is preceded in death by all of his siblings, his wife Mary, his son Peter, and longtime companion Anne Ashley. He is survived by his children Janet Nowosielski, Nancy Horne (Jim) and Paul Nowosielski (Kerry). Edd has six grandchildren : Stacia Mary (Aaron), Helena Rose, Ethan Edward, MaryCatherine Elizabeth, Anne Elizabeth and Michael Joseph. They adored their Grampy and were especially fond of his quick wit and bits of wisdom.

As a family, we would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mass General Hospital's Neuro-Intensive Care unit for their care and their support while he was there. We would also like to thank the staff at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers for the exceptional care that was shown to Dadd and to us while he was there.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Edd's memory.
