Dorothy Lucy (Hovey) Baldini With great sadness we announce that Dorothy Lucy (Hovey) Baldini of Brookline, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home on June 29th, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Barbara (Bolles) Hovey and Edward Clarence Hovey, Jr. of Boston and Prides Crossing, MA, and the wife of the late Prof. Mario Giulio Baldini. Dorothy grew up in Milton, MA and attended Milton Academy and The Winsor School. She had many and varied interests, including a lifelong interest in gardens and gardening, and was active in her local community. She was a member of the Chestnut Hill Garden Club, a founding member of The Friends of Larz Anderson Park and of The Friends of the Old Burying Ground, and served for many years as a trustee of the Walnut Hills Cemetery. She leaves behind her children, Daniel Baldini of New York, NY; Julia (Baldini) Adams of Duxbury, MA and her husband Stephen Adams; Edward Baldini of Dedham, MA and his wife Elizabeth; and her grandchildren, George and Eliza Baldini and Lilla and Rufus Adams. The family is so grateful for the love and care provided by Veronica, Imelda, Marguerite and Ann, who enabled Dorothy to remain in her home as her health declined. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17th, 2015 at 10:00 am at The First Church in Chestnut Hill, 26 Suffolk Road, Chestnut Hill, MA. Arrangements by Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, Brookline, MA. Dorothy has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Development Department, 125 Arborway, Boston, MA 02130-3500.
