Obituary

David William Frank, 67, of West Roxbury, MA, died June 12, 2017, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Frank was a 1967 graduate of the Friends School of Baltimore and a member of Harvard College class of 1971. He earned a masters degree in education from Stanford University, along with other advanced certificates in music and acting. For twenty five years, he taught English and drama at the Roxbury Latin School, directing numerous plays and musicals, often in collaboration with Dana Hall and the Windsor School. As a serious amateur actor and musician for nearly three decades, he appeared in productions around the Boston area with the Vokes Players, the Boston Actors Theater, and Wheelock Family Theater. He also performed under the aegis of the Town of Salem, the Mass Bay Shakespeare Company, Sanford Maine Stage and Green Mountain Guild, among others. In retirement, he was deeply appreciated by many tutees. He was beloved by his nieces, nephew, and cousins. Frank is survived by his mother, Elizabeth K Frank of Baltimore, MD, and three sisters: Deborah A. Frank, of Brookline, MA, Julia B. Frank of Silver Spring, MD, and Emily F. Frank of Baltimore, MD. A memorial service is planned at a later date at the Roxbury Latin School.
