Cornelius B. O'Callaghan of Brookline, originally from Brosna, County Kerry, Ireland died in Needham on June 26, 2023. He was born on May 16, 1941, to Margaret Casey O'Callaghan and Michael Joseph O'Callaghan. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael, David, and Timothy, and his sisters, Joan O'Callaghan, and Margaret O'Leary.

As a teenager, Connie left the family farm in Brosna and immigrated to Boston in 1961. He built a successful career in the hospitality industry, retiring in 2013 after 40 years as the beloved "Captain" of the Midtown Hotel in Boston, receiving many industry awards in recognition of his outstanding service to guests.

Always a gracious gentleman, Connie is remembered for his quick wit and love of song and dance. His loyalty to the Red Sox and Kerry Gaelic football and hurling ran deep.

Connie was a regular communicant at St. Lawrence Parish in Chestnut Hill, where his dedication to the parish community was never more visible than at the get-togethers in the church hall after Sunday mass.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends, both here and in Ireland.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 12 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington Street, Brookline MA 02445.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 AM at Saint Lawrence Church, 774 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill MA 02467

Interment will be in the New Cemetery, Brosna, County Kerry, Ireland.
