Claire E. (Moran) Nicholson

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Claire Nicholson announces her peaceful passing at the age of 83 on June 23, 2026.

Claire was the daughter of Thomas and Gladys Roderick Moran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Andrew "Andy" Nicholson, and her son, Edward "Red." She is survived by her niece, Caroline Moran, and nephew, Thomas Moran, of Austin, Texas, along with many extended family members in New Hampshire and friends who will deeply miss her.

Claire lived a full and meaningful life marked by unwavering dedication to her family and a deep, abiding faith. Her love for her family knew no bounds, especially the bond she shared with her son — a bond that once lived on this earth and now continues in heaven. Claire cherished every moment spent with him, and she took immense joy in being surrounded by children, a joy reflected in her years as a bus monitor for Brookline High School.

She also found happiness in quieter pursuits — losing herself in a good book, crossword puzzles, and spending countless peaceful hours crocheting and doing needlework. Claire had a gift for bringing magic to every holiday, filling each gathering with festive decorations, warm company, treasured family meals, and a joyful heart.

Claire’s faith carried her through life and now guides her home.

The family will hold a memorial honoring Claire and her son, Eddie on Memorial Day Weekend, 2027 in Brookline, MA, where we will dedicate a bench in the Nicholson family’s honor. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to Caroline Moran at carolinemoran2014@gmail.com
