On Tuesday, December 31, 2024 Christopher Hussey of Brookline passed away at age 88. Beloved husband of Sheila (Carlson) for 65 years, devoted father of David, Andrea and husband David, and Nora, proud grandfather of Mina, Charlotte and her husband Joe, friend and mentor to many. He graduated as Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Michigan in 1960, practiced as a registered architect for more than 50 years, forty-four as a partner and managing principal in architectural firms. His civic activities over the years included Board Member of the Brookline Zoning Board of Appeals, Overseer of Building and Grounds at Plymouth Plantation and Corporator of the Brookline Savings Bank.
He was devoted to the Boston Architectural College for 25 years serving many positions as teacher and mentor from Board of Directors to his favorite activity as Thesis Student Advisor. A born teacher he spent many happy hours creating teaching plans for after school lessons with his granddaughters. A history buff he served as president of the Pilgrim Society, president of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati and Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society.
His Plymouth High School yearbook inscription describes him as "never fast, never slow, but always steady."
Our family wishes to thank all at Goddard House in Brookline for the compassionate care they gave our husband, father, grandfather, good friend.
