Cummings, Catherine Jane, 88 of West Roxbury passed away on July 28, 2025. Devoted daughter of the late William and Catherine Shaw McLeod. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband James Cummings Sr. (Retired BPD).

She is survived by her children James Jr. and his wife Aindrea of Fall River MA, C. Jacqueline Champy and her husband the late Brian of North Woodstock, NH and Christopher (BFD) and his wife Francis of East Weymouth. Her grandchildren Meghan, Matthew, James, Austin, Logan and Isabella and her great grandchildren Aubrey and Wesley Champy.

She is also survived by her siblings Ethel and her husband the late James Franks of Hingham, Judith Ann and her husband the late Robert Ritchie Sr. of Natick and Joseph McLeod and his wife Judith Ann of Yuba City, CA., and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her older brother William McLeod Jr. of Arizona.  She also enjoyed spending time with her favorite Shaw cousins.

Cathy worked for the Brookline Recreation Department for many years. She taught Nursery School for over thirty years at the Soule, Eliot and the Lynch Recreation Centers in Brookline. In the summer she ran summer camps at Eliot and Larz Anderson.

Funeral from the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline on Monday morning at 9:00 followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint John Chrysostom, 4750 Washington St, West Roxbury at 10:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
