Beverly M. Gleason (Viens), 83, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2021 at The Beth Israel Deaconess Center in Boston, MA Born and raised in Burlington, Vermont, she attended The Nazareth School and later took courses at Boston University. She was the daughter of the late Sadie Lamphere and Albert Viens, and the sister of the late Albert Viens, Jr. of California. Beverly was the former wife of Francis Patrick Gleason, Jr., with whom she shared one daughter, Jean M. Zielinski (Gleason) of Newton, MA. She was the devoted, beloved and irreplaceable "Memere" to John Gleason Zielinski, 22, of Brookline, Mass., and Andrew Gleason Zielinski, 21, of Newton, Mass. She leaves behind her heartbroken daughter, Jean, and her much-loved son-in-law Richard M. Zielinski of Goulston and Storrs in Boston, MA Beverly moved to Brookline in the 1960's and it was love at first sight. She loved everything about Brookline, and enjoyed a long career working for a few doctors at 1180 Beacon Street. She finished her career at The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and retired early to spend as much time as she could with her grandsons. To know Beverly was to love Beverly. She loved life, all people and had an insatiable interest in other cultures. She had a natural affinity for other languages and knew just enough about several to be able to communicate with the never-ending stream of people that she would meet and befriend. She was an avid reader, loved all things Korean, including Korean drama, was a fantastic cook, and was a nature and animal lover, taking in strays her entire life and carrying birdseed with her wherever she went so that she could feed the birds. We have no doubt that she continues to do so in heaven. She always said "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl.". A bright light has gone out in the world. There will be a private family mass at St. Mary's in Brookline.
