Barbara Ann (Flaherty) Radley, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, at her home in North Carolina.

Born in Boston, MA on January 22, 1941, she was the youngest daughter of the late John F. and Mary V. (Donahue) Flaherty. She is predeceased by John Radley Sr. of Boston, husband; Gerald Gilraine of Brookline, significant other; Kendra Radley of Brookline, granddaughter; and Patricia Dugan, John F. Flaherty, Marilyn A. Flaherty, A. Claire (Flaherty) Marnell, siblings.

Barbara loved her hometown of Brookline, MA and enjoyed a long career working for the town—first with the public schools and later as the first female head custodian of the town library system. She cherished her Hart Street home where she grew up and where she later raised her own family. She also had a special place in her heart for Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire where she spent every summer. This is where she could truly relax and enjoy some of her favorite things in life such as animals, gardening, ice cream, and the vibrant Weirs Beach. In her retirement, Barbara took pleasure in traveling the East Coast with Gerald (Jerry) where they would spend winters with friends in Myrtle Beach, SC and Florida.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Mary Veronica Radley, John Thomas Radley, and Dennis Patrick Radley; grandchildren, Chelsea Radley, and Shannon (Radley) Bates with husband Brendan; great grandchild, Sloane Bates; and brother, Robert Flaherty. Affectionately referred to as "Mom" or "Nana", Barbara found incredible joy in her extended family and being a grandmother and a great grandmother (GG). She is also survived by Priscilla (Walsh) Ayati; Kelly (Gilraine) Annantuonio and children; and Glen and Joy Gilraine, along with their children; and her many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Barbara's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was the first organization to which Barbara ever donated and their charitable ethics never ceased to amaze her.
