FREDHEIM, Arthur, of Brookline, Massachusetts, formerly of Augusta, Maine, and Staten Island, New York, passed away on May 21, 2025, following a long illness. Artie was a devoted husband to his late wife, Mary Ann, and a loving father to his four children: Mary Beth Fredheim of Sherborn, MA, and her husband, David Tanaka; Tim Fredheim of Portland, ME; Kriste O'Brien of Windham, NH, and her husband, Anthony; and Deborah Fredheim of Quincy, MA, and her husband, Walter Hagstrom. He was a proud grandfather to his nine grandchildren: Cameron, Emma, Katie, Macie, Madison, Joseph, Isabel, Sophie, and John Thomas. He is also survived by his brother, Harold J. Fredheim, and his wife, Lorelei, of Indian Trail, NC, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins in the US and Norway.

He was born in Brooklyn in 1940 and moved with his family to Staten Island. He attended Port Richmond High School and joined the Army Reserves. Following his marriage to Mary Ann Leddy in 1964, the couple settled in Westerleigh, where they lived for nine years before relocating to Augusta, Maine, where he lived for twenty-five years. He spent the later years of his life sharing time between Brookline, MA, and Old Orchard Beach, ME.

A graduate of Wagner College, he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He worked as a Special Agent for the U.S. Treasury Department for twenty-five years and, upon retirement, established a successful forensic accounting business, Financial Investigative Services, Ltd. Artie's life was filled with family, friends, accomplishments, adventure, and travel. Some of his favorite trips included Bali, Hawaii, Malaysia, Italy, and Norway. For many years, he vacationed in the Catskill Mountains with close friends and relatives. He enjoyed music, socializing with friends and family, the beaches of Florida and Maine, and an afternoon beer and cigar. Artie had quick wit and a kind heart. Although he's no longer here to deliver his sharp one-liners or offer a quiet smile when we need it most, his loving spirit lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, whom he adored.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, MA., from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services and internment at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Brookline, MA, will be private.
