CURTIN, Arlene B. (Conry) of Brookline passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Francis P. Curtin. Loving mother of Peter Curtin and his wife Donna of Tabernacle, NJ and the late Sean Curtin. Adored Grandy of Timothy Curtin and his wife Brooke and Kevin Curtin. Devoted daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Malley) Conry. Dear sister of Charlotte Seaman, Karen "K.C." Hess, and the late Charles Jr., Midge Forsythe, Michael, Kevin, Brian, Mark, and PFC Dennis J. Conry, U.S.M.C. KIA Vietnam. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The oldest of ten children, Arlene was fondly known as "the Dutchess" or "Dutchie". She helped raise all of her younger siblings and her Brookline home served as a domicile for several of her nieces and nephews. She was a teacher in the Newton Public School system and was cherished by her students. The visiting hours will be held at the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, beginning on Monday, January 6th from 4pm to 7pm and again Tuesday, January 7th at 9am. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill at 10am on the 7th as well. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. The burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange Street, West Roxbury following the Funeral Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Arlene may be made to the Dementia Society of America, dementiasociety.org
