Anne Huebner Abercrombie

Anne Huebner Abercrombie, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Brookline, Massachusetts, from complications of a long-term illness. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Imelda and Charles Arthur Huebner, she was presented at the Passavant Cotillion in 1962. She was educated at North Shore Country Day School and Briarcliff College before graduating from the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston.

An elegant and supportive presence, Anne volunteered with the altar guild at the Church of the Redeemer and enjoyed spending time at The Country Club in Chestnut Hill.

Anne's first marriage gave her a dear sister in-law in Georgia (Jenkes) Cunningham. After her husband Webb's early death in 1979, Anne kept busy working at the Computer Museum and devoting time to her passion for needlepoint and knitting sweaters for her niece and nephews

In 1992, she married Dr. J. Scott Abercrombie, Jr., bringing immense joy, grace, and devotion to his life until his passing. Anne lovingly embraced her role as "Grand-Annie" to her stepchildren, filling their lives with warmth, carefully chosen gifts, and wonderful holiday traditions. She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; her sister, Jean Huebner Fetridge; her brother, Edward Huebner; and her sister-in-law, Georgia Jenkes Cunningham. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Alexandra Huebner; her brother-in-law, Clark W. Fetridge; and five stepchildren: Carol Ann Abercrombie Alston, J. Scott III, Janice Lynn, Paul David, and David John.
