LEARY, Loys "Lindy" Lindgren. Died peacefully at home on July 30, 2017, at the age of 92, with her family at her side. Beloved wife of Richard T. Leary, Brookline's former Town Administrator, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Devoted mother to Susan Leary of Chestnut Hill, Linda Leary of Chestnut Hill, and Elise and Alan Lapham of Reading . She was predeceased by her son, Richard T. Leary, Jr. Adoring grandmother to Ian and Amanda Lapham. Beloved sister of Ted Lindgren, and his wife Flossie, of Springfield VT, Roberta Griswold of Roaring Branch, PA, Dorothy Grover, of Perkinsville VT and Donna White and her husband Tom of Danvers MA. She was predeceased by her sisters Erma Haley and Margery Molesky. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Lindy was born in New York City and raised in Springfield Vermont. She graduated from the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in Hanover, NH. She achieved certification as a Nurse Anesthetist and worked in this capacity for many years at Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary.
First and foremost Lindy cherished time spent with family including her husband Dick and her children and grandchildren. Favorite family memories were enjoyed at the Cape and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Lindy will be remembered by family, friends, neighbors and patients for her never-ending kindness and her loving heart.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 774 Boylston St. (Route 9 East) Chestnut Hill. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend interment will follow in the Holyhood Cemetery. Visiting hours have been omitted. In Lieu of flowers donations in Lindy's memory may be made to the Richard T. Leary Scholarship Fund at Brookline High School, 115 Greenough St., Brookline, MA. 02445.
